Please join the Virginia Chapter of the AAA Fund on August 6th when President Obama and Governor Tim Kaine rally to support Virginia Gubernatorial Candidate Creigh Deeds and help make sure we keep our Commonwealth blue. The event will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2009 at 5:00 pm at the Hilton McLean Tysons Corner, 7920 Jones Branch Drive, McLean, VA 22101. VA Chapter Campaign Update
The Virginia Chapter of the AAA Fund is pleased to announce its endorsement of Mark Keam for Virginia House of Delegates. Mark was the Chief Counsel to Senator Dick Durbin of the Senate Judiciary Committee and worked for the Federal Communications Commission and the Small Business Administration. Mark is a former AAAF Board member and Obama organizer in Norhtern Virginia. He won the Democratic primary on June 9th for the House of Delegate seat in Vienna and Fairfax, and is running a strong campaign to defeat his Republican opponent on November 3rd. Please volunteer for Mark who has the support of a number of prominent local Democrats. If elected, he would be the first Asian American in state office.

About AAA-Fund Virginia
The purpose of this organization shall be to promote the interests of Asian Americans in support of the Democratic Party and encourage participation of Asian Americans at all levels of the Democratic Party. Activities shall include voter registration, education, outreach, recruitment of members of local Democratic committees and endorsement of candidates for political office in Virginia.
Asian American supporters with Fairfax Chairman Gerry Connolly and other Democratic elected officials and candidates
In 2005, the AAA-Fund Virginia Chapter sponsored an Asian American fundraiser for Lt. Candidate Tim Kaine who was running for Governor. We also assisted in Asian American outreach for Tim Kaine for Governor, Leslie Byrne for Lt. Governor, and Creigh Deeds for Attorney General. The Virginia Chapter sponsored ads in Asian language newspapers and radio for these three at-large candidates and Democratic candidates for state delegate.
In 2006, the AAA-Fund Virginia Chapter participated in phone banking, literature drops and visibility events at Asian grocery stores. The AAA-Fund sponsored a full-page campaign ad for Jim Webb in a Korean Daily newspaper. The Virginia Chapter also helped arrange other campaign ads and newspaper articles.

Executive Committee Biographies
Rose Chu (Virginia Chapter President): Ms. Chu serves as the treasurer of the 8th District Democratic Committee of Virginia, co-chair of Diversity for the Fairfax County Democratic Committee and captain of Baileys precinct. She has hosted Democratic Meetups and is active with Democracy for America. Rose is a health care consultant who specializes in health care reform initiatives. She is the project manager for the evaluation of Healthy New York, a reinsurance program for small businesses and individuals.
